Emmilly is the eighth child among ten siblings. Her father died in 2005 when she was in preschool. Emmilly and her other siblings barely survived through her mother’s efforts in selling fish to get them food, clothing and to pay for school levies. Given their desperate situation, Lalmba supported Emmilly through her primary education, and she has excelled so much that she received a Lalmba scholarship for secondary school. According to our children’s director, “She is one of the most dependable girls in the class. She is praying daily for Lalmba to support other deserving orphans the way she has been supported.” Emmilly would like to join Kenya armed forces after finishing her higher education.
